The planting starts in the year 2000 as a consequence of the Vineyard Restructuring Plan . It reaches an area of more than 27 hectares and is located in the upper zone of the estate, between 750 and 300 meters far from the river bank.
The wines are under the Ribera del Guadiana guarantee of origin and the vine grower's number is 1.930. It is located entirely in the Casas Novas spot, in the Badajoz municipality, area 136, plot 14, as can be seen in the attached registry document.
The vineyards have been divided into seven different sections following variety, soil, etc… criteria. In the following page you can see a graphic representation of the section divisions, grape varieties, patterns and grafts.
The planting is a trellis one with four wire lines and support drip irrigation . This kind of irrigation is used eventually due to the hard characteristics of the summer in Extremadura. This way the hydric stress in plants can be minimised.
